Lucerna

A clean, transparent, open-source Minecraft launcher. No telemetry. No adware. It never touches the Minecraft client.

What Lucerna does

Microsoft & offline, equal footing

Sign in with a Microsoft / Xbox Live account, or play offline for LAN and single-player. Multiple accounts in one switcher.

Isolated instances

Every install is its own .minecraft — versions, mods, worlds, and JVM args never bleed across profiles.

Translate the mods you play

Rewrite any line a mod shows on screen — the untranslated ones and the badly translated ones. Your wording is gathered into a resource pack Lucerna switches on for you; the mods themselves are never modified. Optionally let a model draft it — with your own API key, or a model on your own machine so nothing leaves the computer.

Mods, packs and more

Browse Modrinth and CurseForge in-app — mods, modpacks, resource packs, shaders and data packs. Dependencies resolve themselves, and an installed modpack can jump to any published version.

Run your own server

Create, start and diagnose a server from a live console. Plugins, backups, a server.properties editor, datapacks and SFTP export — then spin up a matching client instance in one step.

Skins & capes

A library of your skins with one-click switching and a cape remembered per skin, plus a built-in pixel editor with a live 3D preview. No account needed to edit.

Transparent by construction

Every network request goes through one audited chokepoint with a static host allowlist. No telemetry, no fingerprinting, no hidden processes.

Every loader

Fabric, Quilt, Forge (1.7.10 → current), and NeoForge — installed in-process, no external wizard.

Built to be trusted, not just used

Windows 10/11 (64-bit). Java is not required — Lucerna downloads the correct runtime per Minecraft version. Not code-signed yet: on first run, SmartScreen → “More info” → “Run anyway”.
